Travel: Bruce Penninsula

A few weeks ago Scott and I (and Rory) traveled up north to Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula. Our main reason for going was to see the grotto that I kept seeing pictures of online.

It’s no surprise I have a HUGE case of wanderlust. Travel is what makes me happiest because I like exploring new places and experiencing new things. With the wedding and being in school right now big trips are hard to come by (with the exception of our upcoming honeymoon). This is why I love lists such as “Best Places To See In Ontario” or “Amazing Trips Just Outside Of Toronto” because they round up cool things to do or see close to us. Try googling a similar list near you if you’d like to have some adventures.

This was one of the places on the list and I couldn’t wait to get there. It was a hike into the forest and then scaling some rocks but the view from the top was beautiful. It was rainy and windy when we went (it is fall after all) but it was still so cool. I can only imagine what it looks like in the summer. To get into the grotto itself we literally had to crawl into this hole between the rocks, it was a tight squeeze but when it opened up it was incredible. We couldn’t get all the way down as the water was too high, but I’m sure in the spring and summer months it would be even cooler.

Rory did amazing despite his size so it is dog friendly as well. We had to take turns climbing into the grotto because one of us stayed with him at the top. But he had a great time as well and was tired out for the trip home.

Have any of you been here? What did you think?

One month ago today we got married! I still have to pinch myself to believe that it was real and that it’s all over. The withdrawal is starting to set in and I’m starting to really miss wedding planning. Sure it’s stressful but it ends up to be so worth it.

Our wedding couldn’t have been better. It poured rain but our photographer was so fantastic she managed to find wonderful locations for our photos anyway. The rain broke just enough for us to get a few outdoor shots as well.

The wedding was at a tree farm and was inside a greenhouse. As you can see from the last photo it was a beautiful venue and really felt like you were outside despite the rain.

We felt so loved surrounded by our friends and family and were so happy that everyone had such a great time. We want to have an annual wedding we loved it so much! Haha!

Black & White

Scott and I went out for breakfast with my family on Saturday and I had the biggest helping of chocolate chip pancakes! Soooo good. Yes I’m basically a 6 year old.

I wore this outfit and got so many compliments I had Scott shoot a few photos while we were out. It was super awkward because we found this wall I loved but there were so many cars driving by. I’m not super comfortable in front of the camera yet so we grabbed a few and took off. So funny!

I’m a neutrals kind of person so I own a lot of black and white clothing. It’s so convenient for layering and mixing and matching. It’s hard to go wrong with black and white. This sweater is one of my favourites because I’m such a sucker for lace.

This bag is from Michael Kors. It was a wedding gift from Scott and its my favourite purse I own. I really like the structure of it and it can hold a lot. I threw my laptop in it when I went to work the other day and it was perfect.

I hope you all have a great week!!

Thanksgiving & 7 Things I’m Thankful For

img_7983 img_7984 img_7982img_7985

It’s thanksgiving weekend in Canada!

Every time I think of Canadian Thanksgiving and American Thanksgiving I think of this moment in HIMYM.

So seeing as we have a whole weekend to spend being thankful I thought I’d share what I’m thankful for this year!

1. Family

Ok this is an obvious one. Most people are thankful for their family (I hope). This year however Scott and I got married so our families combined and it is awesome. I’m so thankful for all the people that came to celebrate with us and who made us feel so loved.

2. School

This is weird I know, but after working in an industry I hated for 3 years I’m very very thankful to be back in school and pursuing a new dream. It feels like a fresh start and I’m so grateful for Scott’s support in this venture.

3. Technology

I’m completely in awe of technology and how far it advances every year. The new computers, watches, phones, and apps blow my mind. I saw an app today that shows you what your tattoo will look like on so you can test it before you ink it. Like what? Amazing!

4. Free Time

As I get older I appreciate free time more and more. You really learn to value it when you’re juggling family, friends, school, work, business ventures, etc. Savour it!

5. Canada

I love my Country! We are known for being too nice, apologizing too much, playing a lot of hockey, and basically living off maple syrup and donuts. I’m not upset at all by these sterotypes. Could be worse right? Plus Canada is just a great place to live in; we have beautiful scenery, we’re huge, have free health care, and are a pretty friendly bunch.

6. Rory

We brought our sweet red toy poodle home on Thanksgiving weekend last year and had no idea how much he would change our lives for the better. I’ve had dogs all my life but this was Scott’s first and his attachment too him is so strong and adorable. Rory basically makes all of our excursions way more fun, is the best cuddle buddy, and keeps me company while Scott is away for work. He’s amazing.

7. Vacations

Two weeks till we leave for our Honeymoon and we could not be more excited. We will be going to the Barcelo Beach resort in the Mayan Rivera. I’ve been there before, but Scott hasn’t and I know how much he’s going to love it. It’s an all inclusive resort with so much to do and see. Can we just leave now?

Are you celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend? Even if you’re not let me know what you’re thankful for!

Flashback to Fall

img_7939 img_7936 img_7937 img_7938

And by flashback I mean these photos are from last year! I just never got around to posting them on my old blog and I haven’t taken any outfit photos for a while so here we are. These were taken in November last year which is why you see the remnants of snow fall on the ground!

ANYWAY! I love this sweater because it is A) fuzzy and B) has an owl on it. What’s more to love? I don’t love that it looks a bit awkward on my long torso and you can see my underwear…sorry! For you normal length torso people this would look so good on you!

I love the fall for the cozy sweaters and how simple it is to grab one with a bold print or graphic, pair it with jeans and throw on a favourite pair of boots. Speaking of which, these boots are my fave! The tan/beige colour is so flattering with a variety of outfits, can be dressed up or down, and have a heel but not too much of a heel.

Style According To…Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie! Ok everyone is obsessing over her right now and I totally am too. She’s stunning and has a great personality…and fashion sense! This girl looks flawless every time she steps out.

I looooove how she can pull off and entire white ensemble with a pop of colour in the red of her purse. She even has matching red toenails.

The second all white outfit is even white down to her shoes. If I were to wear an outfit like that it would look like I stepped out in pajamas. I don’t know how she pulls it off so well!

Even when she’s traveling she still looks flawless. With the scarf wrapped around her head she reminds me of a beauty queen from the 50’s.

Between her and Julianne Hough I’m debating dying my hair blonde. Is it true they have more fun? Let me know what you think in the comments.

Being Married

love-1706572_1920

As I write this I have been married for a week. One whole week. I don’t pretend to be an expert in this subject, but I’ve noticed something that I feel needs to be brought up.

If you’re newly married I’m sure you’ll understand the shear amount you get asked “Soooo…how does being married feel?” I mean, I get it, everyone’s curious about ‘the other side’ especially if their not married. How did I feel being married? Not any different. I started to worry that there was something wrong with me. Should I feel different?

Being married is a big deal. You join a covenant with your significant other that you need to cherish, keep alive, and never break. There is a lot of pressure and responsibility that goes along with this, such as working through fights and always putting each other first.

But as far as feelings go…I already lived with Scott (while he’s in the same Country), I already valued our relationship more than anything else and already knew we would be spending the rest of our lives together. This didn’t just happen when we got married.

I woke up the day after our wedding exhausted, bursting with joy and feeling so loved, but ultimately the same. So is it just me? Or is it just because we already lived together? Or do any of you feel the same way? Fill me in!

**Disclaimer: That photo is not us! Just a stock photo. Photos of our wedding will be coming soon!**
